Manifesto
“We do not make two identical garments. Variation is the proof of a human hand, not a defect.”
Story
Founded by two ceramicists who could not find clothing that aged the way their pots did, Mò Ceramic treats dye as glaze: layered, unstable, different on every piece. The studio operates out of Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital, and dyes in small batches using mineral pigments sourced from the same suppliers as the local kilns.
Designer
Co-founder, colour
A ceramicist for twelve years before making a single garment. Chen's dye recipes are written the way glaze recipes are — by weight, by firing, by accident.
Atelier
Dyeing and finishing in-house, six people. Cut-and-sew by a family workshop in Jiangxi, six machinists, in partnership since 2020.
