Sustainability

What we verify, and what we do not

We do not make an environmental claim on behalf of our brands. We check documents, we publish what we find, and we name what we could not verify. Under the EU's rules on green claims, that is the only honest posture for a marketplace.

We verify

  • ✓The certificate number, against the issuing body's own register.
  • ✓The named atelier, asked for twice, three months apart.
  • ✓Composition and origin, declared per product rather than per collection.
  • ✓The designer's training and body of work.

We do not verify

  • ○Carbon footprint. We do not publish a figure we cannot audit.
  • ○Wage levels beyond what a brand publishes and we can corroborate.
  • ○Sub-suppliers below the first tier, unless a certification covers them.
